BRIDGEPORT, PA. -- Goalie Elizabeth Lipps (Sr., Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) of the University of Washington posted 33 saves with six assists, four steals and only eight goals allowed over the span of three games at the Women's Collegiate Club Northwest Division Championship hosted by the Huskies on Saturday-Sunday, April 8-9, at Rogers High School in Puyallup, Wash.
For her performance, the league office recognizes her with the April 10 Northwest Division Player of the Week award.
She opened the weekend by allowing one goal and turning aside 11 shots in an 11-1 defeat of Washington's "B" team prior to making seven saves with a goal permitted in a 17-1 victory over the Unviersity of Oregon "B" to make the Northwest Division title game.
In the title tilt versus Oregon State University, she notched 15 saves with six goals allowed in a 9-6 win as the Huskies claimed the division title plaque and punched their ticket to the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. for the 2017 Women's National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, May 5-7.
Washington, which concluded the division slate with a perfect 10-0 mark, leaned heavily upon Lipps during the course of the season as the senior allowed 30 goals and made 117 saves - an average of three goals and 11.7 saves made over the course of league competition - in 2017.

"You'd be hard pressed to find someone who works harder or is more dedicated than Lizzy," said coach, Rudy Ramirez, about the honor. "Before the season began, Lizzy stepped up to play a position we were in desperate need to fill. It didn't take her long to excel and easily become the best goalie in our division. She's the cornerstone of our defense and a big part of why we are headed back to the national championships for the second consecutive year."
